Our top things you simply MUST do as a tourist!
Every one who stays with us asks us for our advice on where to go and what to do ….
We are happy to book you on any tour your interested in at a discounted rate.
Here are a few of our staff’s top picks:
THE GREAT BARRIER REEF
There is a big difference between a $70 trip and a $150 trip – you get what you pay for. If you have come all this way to see the reef and your only going to go once we recommend you visit Agincourt Reef. This reef is famous for being the best - go to the very edge where the coral colours are vivid, the water is clearer and the fish are everywhere!
ISLAND EXPERIENCE
If you fancy lazing on a beach under a palm tree, having a paddle in the warm ocean and catching a tan then check out these islands:
CAPE TRIBULATION WEEKEND
One of the few areas in the world where two World Heritage Areas (the reef and rainforest) meet. It’s stunning and everyone does it. You can go for a day trip but we recommend experiencing a night in the rainforest.
SKY DIVING OVER THE BEACH
Adventure and beautiful views over the beach. Go for a half day or a full day but either way just do it! We recommend 14,000 ft .. your up that far so why do less?
WHITE WATER RAFTING
You can choose between the Tully, Johnstone or Barron – our top pick is the full day Tully River Rafting trip with Raging Thunder. A brilliant day of fun and laughs and great scenery.
TABLELANDS AND WATERFALLS
Explore the beautiful Tablelands Region jam packed with waterfalls, rainforest, adventure and singing ....
KURANDA/SKYRAIL
An extremely impressive feat of engineering, the Skyrail Cablecar takes about 1.5 hours to get to Kuranda, a little village with daily markets tucked into the rainforest. You can get the scenic train back to Cairns or catch the local bus if your watching the pennies. A relaxing day that doesn’t break the bank.
MEETING THE ANIMALS
If you haven’t seen kangaroos, crocodiles or koalas – we recommend the Cairns Tropical Zoo! An easy cheap bus ride out of Cairns and no need to book.

LEARNING TO DIVE ON THE GREAT BARRIER REEF
Everyone who comes to Cairns wants to learn to dive. There are lots of different operators who go to different places, have different equipment and different staff. The cheaper tours will take you out on day trips, whilst the more expensive will have you sleeping on board a boat on the reef and taking you night diving.
Let us also help you save $$$$ when planning the rest of your holiday from Cairns to anywhere in Oz & NZ!
