Who are my roommates?

Your roommates are mixture of young international and Australia travellers looking for a room to rent in a share house.

They are a mixture of backpackers, students, divers, working travellers, work placement

How did it all begin?

Cairns Share house is a unique family run business that began in 2003.

The original idea came from talking to a family friend who expressed a passionate concern for the lack of quality share accommodation available in Cairns for visitors staying for 1-3 months.

Owners Brian and Julie Hippisley have spent the last 5 years working with the local council and town planners, building, renovating and designing homes that not only meet the needs of travellers but also meet government health and safety regulations.

It started with one small house and here we are 5 years later with over 170 rooms in over 15 share houses.

We are proud to be recognised by the local council as setting the highest standard for share accommodation.
