Fun in Cairns

Having fun in Cairns?

WHERE DO WE BEGIN!

Cairns is a stunning tropical paradise, surrounded by lush rainforest and right on the door step of the Great Barrier Reef.  There is so much to see and do in Cairns, and the great thing is that it’s all on your doorstep with so many cheap or free things to do to save you money.

Best of all, living in a Sharehouse is a great way of meeting people and enjoying all the awesome things there are to do in Cairns together. Whether it’s hiring a car together to explore the Daintree Rainforest, or heading down the Esplanade for some fun free exercise classes, there is more than enough opportunity to have fun and meet people.

What’s there to do and see?

Here are some tips from our team on some hidden gems to visit
Phils Favourite – Behana Gorge

“This is one of the best swimming areas in Cairns. Stunning waterfalls and rock pools in crystal clear water surrounded by green rainforest. Best of all you can’t drive all the way into it so a 30 minute walk along a path rewards your sweaty efforts with a stunning view and the place not packed with other tourists”

Catherine’s Local – Palm Cove

“Palm Cove is my favourite place to visit.  It has a beautiful beach, palm trees that curve over the sand begging for a photo and a relaxed touristy vibe”

Tammy’s Recommendation – Crystal Cascades

“I really love Crystal Cascades, a gorgeous swimming hole with waterfalls and easily accessible from Cairns City in 10 minutes by car.  The locals and the tourists mix together and chill out in the rock pools and in summer when it is so hot you can feel the steam sizzling around you”.

Danielle’s Fave – Cairns Botanical Gardens

“I love visiting the Botancial Gardens – it is cool, peaceful and gloriously green.  There are tropical flowers everywhere and you can just laze barefoot on the grass with a picnic or good book and feels like your a million miles away despite being only 5 minutes from the City”.
